We are looking for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, who are enthusiastic to pursue innovative and challenging research and publish high impact publications. Our work involves various topics in optics, microfluidics, automation, and machine learning:
High-speed imaging using LEAD microscopy: Develop advanced optical methods for implementation of LEAD microscopy for high-speed two-photon brain imaging and 3D imaging flow cytometry at unprecedented speeds of million frames per second.
Ultrafast laser microsurgery: Develop novel methods and miniaturized optical probes for clinical surgery using ultrafast laser ablation with applications to spine surgery, cancer treatment, etc.
Multiphoton imaging: Develop miniaturized probes for early cancer detection in the clinic using nonlinear microscopy.
Microfluidics: Develop microfluidic devices for high-throughput culturing and imaging of 3D tissue constructs, such as spheroids and organoids, for large scale, rapid testing.
Machine Learning: Develop novel machine learning-based frameworks for applications in image segmentation and denoising, and rapidly accelerated solvers for optothermal interactions with biological tissues.
The open positions are suitable for students with Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Physics backgrounds.
